Overview
Mavericks Fitness Studio is seeking a professional Fitness Trainer to deliver client-focused training and support in a busy studio environment. The trainer will lead one-on-one sessions and small group classes, conduct assessments, design progressive programs, demonstrate and correct exercise technique, and ensure a safe, organized training area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead personalized one-on-one training sessions and small group classes tailored to client goals, fitness levels, and medical considerations.
- Conduct initial fitness assessments, track progress, and adjust programs to optimize results and safety.
- Design progressive strength, cardio, and mobility programs for a range of fitness levels.
- Demonstrate proper exercise techniques, provide coaching cues, and correct form to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean, organized training area and ensure equipment is used and stored safely.
- Provide excellent member service: welcome clients, answer questions, and coordinate with front-desk staff on scheduling and membership interactions.
- Adhere to safety, injury prevention, and basic first-aid/CPR procedures; identify contraindications and modify exercises accordingly.
Job Specification
- Certified in fitness instruction (CPT) or equivalent recognized certification.
- Diploma or certification in Personal Training/Exercise Science or equivalent vocational training with at least 1 year practical gym/studio experience.
- Proven ability to design progressive strength, cardio, and mobility programs.
- Experience leading group classes and one-on-one coaching.
- Competence in conducting fitness assessments, tracking client metrics, and adjusting plans based on progress.
- Knowledge of safety, injury prevention, and basic first-aid/CPR procedures (CPR/First Aid certification preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills, punctuality, professionalism, and clear communication.
- Basic familiarity with scheduling software or point-of-sale systems and handling membership-related interactions.
