Job summary

Banyan Canopy Group is seeking a Management Trainee – Finance based in Karachi, Pakistan. The role offers hands-on exposure to AP, AR, GL, and month-end close, along with US GAAP training within a global, acquisition-driven environment.

You will work closely with the finance team to support reporting, automation initiatives, and cross-regional processes while growing foundational accounting and financial systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience or internships.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles; willingness to learn US GAAP.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to ERP systems is an asset.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support AP, AR, and GL activities.
• Assist in preparing journal entries and month-end close.
• Perform basic balance sheet and account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules.
• Support audit processes by organizing and preparing documentation.
• Assist in tracking cash balances and preparing basic reports.
• Support budgeting and forecasting data collection.
• Perform basic variance analysis under supervision.
• Assist in integration activities for newly acquired operating companies.
• Learn and follow SOPs and identify simple process improvements.
• Collaborate with finance teams across functions.
