Job summary

The Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of Pakistan, invites fresh Law graduates for a paid internship as Intern / Associate Lawyer in Islamabad. This program offers hands-on experience in a federal government legal environment, supporting research, drafting, and legislative work.

Selected candidates will work on-site in Islamabad with mentorship from senior legal officers and direct exposure to federal legal and policy-making processes, strengthening their legal career profiles.

Qualifications

• LLB degree from a recognized university (Pakistan or abroad, HEC-attested if foreign)
• Fresh graduate — recent graduates with little to no prior work experience are encouraged to apply
• Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills
• Good command of English and Urdu (written and verbal)
• Familiarity with Pakistani legal and constitutional framework preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic legal research tools
• Pakistani national, meeting the age criteria specified by the Ministry (check NJP listing for exact limit)
• Willingness to work on-site in Islamabad

Responsibilities

• Assist senior legal officers in researching case law, statutes, and legal precedents
• Support the drafting and review of legal opinions, notifications, and official correspondence
• Help prepare briefs, summaries, and documentation for ongoing legal matters
• Conduct legislative research related to federal laws, amendments, and policy matters
• Attend meetings, hearings, or consultations as required and prepare notes
• Assist in organizing and maintaining case files and legal records
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervising legal officer
