Job summary

The British Council in Lahore, Pakistan invites applications for a Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for staff, visitors and other authorised persons. The role requires a valid HTV licence, at least five years of professional driving experience—preferably in corporate, diplomatic, NGO, or security settings—and a good command of English.

Knowledge of local routes and navigating armored-vehicle protocols is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Valid HTV driving licence (additional authorisations as required).
• Minimum 5 years’ professional driving experience in corporate/diplomatic or security-sensitive environments.
• Basic spoken and written English.
• Experience driving 4x4 vehicles; armoured vehicle experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of Lahore road network and major locations; Interior Punjab knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport staff, diplomats, visitors, and authorized passengers.
• Operate and maintain assigned vehicles, including 4x4 and armoured vehicles where authorised.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness, fuel, and readiness.
• Plan efficient routes and adapt to traffic and schedule changes.
• Maintain accurate vehicle and trip records.
• Follow security, safety, and confidentiality protocols at all times.
• Support airport transfers, official engagements, and occasional out-of-hours assignments.
