The role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental & OHS Specialist to join our team for a significant power and energy project based in Hyderabad, Pakistan. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and the effective management of occupational health and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

• Conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments for the project.
• Develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
• Monitor compliance with local and international environmental regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into project operations.
• Provide training and support to project staff on environmental and safety best practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to environmental management and OHS performance.
• Analyze safety metrics and environmental data to report on project compliance and performance.
• Develop risk assessment strategies and recommend mitigation measures to minimize environmental and safety risks.
• Facilitate communication with regulatory bodies and stakeholders regarding environmental and safety issues.
• Promote a culture of environmental stewardship and safety awareness throughout the project team.

With a track record of achievement in a related role, you will have gained your experience in a consultancy environment and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Suitable Applicants Will Have/be

• Tertiary qualifications or a related discipline (e.g. Masters degree in Environmental Engineering/Environmental Sciences or similar field)
• Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in environmental and social impact assessment and mitigation.
• Experience in managing environmental & OHS aspects of power sector projects.
• Experience in managing environmental impacts of linear power distribution/ transmission sector projects.
• Experience of working on Multilateral Development Banks (MDB) funded projects is preferable.
• Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
