Job summary

LantroTech in Pakistan is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer to create comprehensive electrical and IT shop drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring adherence to project specifications and building codes.

You will collaborate with engineers and estimators, prepare schedules for IFC and shop drawings, and maintain accurate technical documentation for construction permits and site instructions; EST shift may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Associate degree in drafting, electrical engineering, or a relevant field.
• Experience with AutoCAD software (3-4 years minimum).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawings.

Responsibilities

• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
• Collaborate with engineers and estimators to incorporate notes and recommendations
• Develop and prepare Electrical/IT shop drawings, as-built drawings, and detailed working designs
• Prepare and distribute building plans, development permits, and site instructions
• Review technical documentation and ensure accuracy of working drawing sets
• Ensure designs comply with building regulations and electrical codes
• Coordinate MEP services in AutoCAD and communicate feedback effectively
• Prepare schedules for IFC and Shop Drawings

Job description

Electrical CAD Designer will be responsible for creating technical drawings for our versatile building projects using a computer-aided design program, like AutoCAD. It will be the responsibility of the CAD Designer to ensure that the electrical design drawings conform to the specifications provided. These drawings are an essential tool for our project team, so they must be very comprehensive, complete with building schedules and materials. The ideal candidate will actively collaborate with the engineers and estimators of the project, adjusting the plan based on their notes or recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data
• Ensure clients’ & PM’s needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Develop and prepare Electrical / IT shop drawings, as-built drawings, detailed working designs, and dimensional calculations
• Produce, Organise and Distribute all building plans including development permits, building permits issued for construction, and site instructions
• Prepare and review accurate and complete technical documentation and technical evaluation for the working drawing set and report any discrepancies
• Ensuring the final designs are compliant with building regulations, National electrical codes, and standards
• Actively communicating with engineers, and estimators and incorporating suggestions and feedback related to drawings
• Preparation of schedules for IFC and Shop Drawings
• Perform drafting works by computer-assisted drafting system (CAD) or, by hand if so required, in accordance with project drafting specifications and Engineering quality standards
• Coordination of all MEP services in AutoCAD
• This role might require working on the Eastern Standard Time (EST) shift to meet operational and business needs; the E&D engineer may be required to rotate between local office hours and EST hours. Such rotation will be planned and communicated by the company.
