Steps Ahead (SAPL) is seeking an organized Logistics & Distribution Coordinator to oversee distribution operations and lead a team of transporters and warehouse staff. You will drive on-time deliveries, maintain inventory accuracy, and coordinate with sales and supply chain teams to ensure stock availability.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Mechanical/BTech/BSc Engineering) and proven experience in logistics or distribution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Mechanical/BTech/BSc Engineering preferred.
• Proven experience in sales distribution, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of distribution software and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Experience with WMS or TMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily distribution operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to the market and managing logistics services.
• Coordinate and manage a team of distribution staff, including transporters, warehouse personnel, drivers, and logistics coordinators.
• Develop and implement distribution strategies to optimize delivery performance, reduce costs, and improve distributor satisfaction, safety and product quality.
• Monitor inventory levels; collaborate with sales and supply chain teams to maintain stock availability and avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers for efficient and reliable service.
• Track, analyze, and report on distribution performance metrics (delivery times, inventory accuracy, cost efficiency).
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in distribution processes.
• Resolve issues related to delayed or damaged shipments with proper investigations and corrective actions.
• Continuously evaluate and improve distribution processes to achieve efficiency and reduced turnaround times.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CD, Operations, Supply Chain, procurement, AR, customer service) to align on business needs and delivery requirements.
• Prepare budgets and manage distribution-related expenses to meet cost targets.
• Implement and maintain distribution software and technologies to improve tracking, reporting, and communication.
