Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Diamond Evaluator with expertise in evaluating and grading rough diamonds. The candidate will work in a mining operation in Angola, maintaining the classification and reporting of diamonds. Overview

Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Diamond Evaluator to join our client’s mining operations team in Angola. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in evaluating, grading, and valuing rough diamonds, ensuring compliance with international standards and industry best practices. This role is key in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the diamond classification and reporting process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine rough diamonds using a loupe, microscope, and other gemological tools.
  • Grade diamonds based on the 4Cs – Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cut potential.
  • Estimate market value of diamonds using current pricing data and knowledge of international diamond markets.
  • Maintain accurate records of diamond parcels and evaluation results for daily reporting.
  • Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, and security teams to ensure safe handling and transport of mined stones.
Compensation
  • Monthly salary of USD 5,000–7,000 plus commission.
  • Annual bonus: TBD.
