Job description

Confiz is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer (Observability / Monitoring) to design, enhance, and maintain enterprise‑grade observability and monitoring solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in CI/CD, automation, cloud infrastructure, and modern observability stacks such as Splunk and New Relic.

The candidate should be flexible to work from 2 PM to 11 PM PKT.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support observability frameworks across logs, metrics, and traces using Splunk, New Relic, and related telemetry tools.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring integrations, and alerting systems for distributed applications.
• Collaborate with development, SRE, and platform teams to ensure proactive system visibility and performance optimization.
• Integrate observability solutions across AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot complex system and data ingestion issues related to telemetry and logging pipelines.
• Champion best practices in monitoring, alerting, and incident response automation.
• Mentor engineers and drive adoption of standardized observability and DevOps practices.
• Lead or support observability migration projects (e.g., Splunk to New Relic) (Nice to have).

Requirements

• Hands‑on experience with Splunk (dashboards, alerts, queries, data ingestion) and New Relic (APM, Infrastructure, NRQL).
• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience configuring log and metrics pipelines for Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices‑based architectures.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or YAML for automation and API integrations.
• Experience deploying and monitoring workloads on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, including instrumentation for APM and performance tuning.
• Exposure to messaging/event‑driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
• Familiarity with security scanning tools, secrets management, and access control best practices.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
