Job summary

Edge is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation across development, staging, and production environments. You will work with AWS services, Terraform modules, Docker containers, and Kubernetes (preferably EKS) to build scalable, secure systems.

Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the development, deployment, monitoring, scalability, security, and reliability of Edge’s cloud infrastructure and applications.

You will work closely with software engineering, QA, IT, and product teams to design and maintain scalable cloud environments, build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure and operational processes, improve system reliability, and troubleshoot complex production issues.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, strong in AWS and Infrastructure as Code, and comfortable taking ownership of production infrastructure while driving DevOps best practices across engineering teams.

What You'll Do

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
• Work extensively with services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, Load Balancers, Lambda, and other AWS services.
• Design highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures.
• Manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code, primarily Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Establish and maintain standardized infrastructure configurations across environments.
• Identify infrastructure bottlenecks and continuously improve performance, scalability, and reliability.

CI/CD & Deployments

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for application build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Own deployment workflows and improve release speed, reliability, and rollback capabilities.
• Work closely with engineering teams to improve application deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot complex build, deployment, and environment-related issues.
• Implement automated testing, deployment approvals, release strategies, and environment management.
• Work with platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar tools.

Infrastructure Automation

• Build automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployments, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Develop scripts and tools using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure components.
• Identify manual and inefficient processes and replace them with reliable automation.
• Establish DevOps standards and reusable workflows across engineering teams.

Containers & Orchestration

• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker.
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes environments, preferably Amazon EKS.
• Define deployment strategies, resource configurations, health checks, scaling, and service discovery.
• Troubleshoot container, networking, and orchestration-related production issues.

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability

• Own monitoring and observability for infrastructure and production applications.
• Implement and maintain metrics, logging, alerting, dashboards, and health checks.
• Work with tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
• Participate in incident response and lead root-cause analysis for production issues.
• Identify recurring problems and implement permanent solutions.
• Improve system availability, performance, resilience, and recovery processes.
• Establish and maintain appropriate backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.

Security

• Implement and maintain cloud security best practices across AWS environments.
• Manage IAM roles, policies, permissions, secrets, credentials, and access controls.
• Apply least-privilege principles and secure infrastructure configurations.
• Identify and address infrastructure security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Work with engineering and IT teams to improve cloud security and compliance practices.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Work closely with software engineers, QA, IT, security, and product teams.
• Provide technical guidance on infrastructure, deployment, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design decisions.
• Review infrastructure and automation code and establish engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps engineers.
• Take ownership of DevOps initiatives from planning through implementation and production rollout.
• Evaluate and introduce tools and technologies that improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
