Job summary

Job description

• Prepare treatment room for patients following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Provide instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for the dentist's access; suctioning; and passing instruments.
• Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments.
• Perform and develop radiographic images (PA X-rays).
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-operative instructions.
• Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Ensure operations of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintain and update dental supplies inventory.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Preferably Intermediate with a Diploma of Dental Assistant registered with theprovincial medical faculty.
• 1 to 2 years of related work experience
• Applicants with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene would be given preference.
