Position: DBA – PostgreSQL or NoSQL Migration

Location: Lahore / Islamabad / Karachi

Experience: Up to 3 Years (Relevant)

Salary: Up to PKR 350,000

HireOn is recruiting on behalf of its international client for a skilled Database Engineer / DBA (Migration) who is passionate about database management and complex data migration projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of database architecture, process handling, and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases — particularly PostgreSQL and DocumentDB (MongoDB).

Requirements

• Up to 3 years of experience in database deployment, management, or migration.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases (DocumentDB / MongoDB).
• Familiarity with AWS DMS or other migration tools.
• Knowledge of Backup/Recovery, Replication, Sharding, Clustering, and Change Data Capture (CDC).
• Exposure to ETL/ELT data pipelines, data engineering workflows, or data transformation.
• Understanding of OLTP and OLAP workloads.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional technical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with database leads and technical teams to ensure successful end‑to‑end database migrations.
• Design and execute migration plans across PostgreSQL, DocumentDB/MongoDB, MySQL, or Oracle environments.
• Utilize AWS Database Migration Services (AWS DMS) and related AWS tools to perform migrations efficiently.
• Validate data and object integrity post‑migration to ensure completeness and performance alignment.
• Implement and maintain Backup/Recovery, Replication, Sharding, and Clustering strategies.
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to maintain system SLAs and business continuity.
• Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and improvement.
