Job summary

Nayatel is seeking a Database Administrator to independently install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL in a Linux environment. You will implement replication (Streaming Replication/Hot Standby) and Data Guard, manage backups, perform failovers, and optimize performance for large-scale databases.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of relevant experience, a BS in CS/Software Engineering, and a solid understanding of database design and NoSQL concepts.

Qualifications

• BS CS/Software Engineering or equivalent degree.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of database design and modelling.
• Understanding of NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL.
• Plan, install, and configure database systems.
• Manage database users and permissions.
• Implement PostgreSQL replication and Oracle Data Guard.
• Backup and restore using pg_dump/pg_basebackup and RMAN/Data Pump.
• Perform failover/switchover activities.
• Monitor and tune performance of databases.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting.
• Ensure security, integrity, and high availability.
• Maintain databases on Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot database issues.
• Routine maintenance like vacuuming and reindexing.
• Manage and support large-scale databases.
