Job summary

Abacus is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our Lahore team. The ideal candidate will manage Oracle and PostgreSQL environments, implement replication, deployment, and clustering strategies, and ensure data integrity for multi-terabyte datasets.

You will own performance tuning, security, backups, and incident response, while collaborating with development and operations to support large enterprise-grade applications. Immediate joining is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Oracle and Oracle GoldenGate, PostgreSQL, replication, deployment, and cluster architecture best practices.
• Minimum 4+ years of software development and database administration experience.
• Experience with database clustering and load-balancing technologies is advantageous.
• Knowledge of configuring active-active configurations for databases.
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery practices.
• Ability to manage multi-terabyte datasets in production environments.
• Expertise in writing efficient queries and stored procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Leadership abilities to oversee project lifecycles and mentor team members.
• Familiarity with tracking SLAs, KPIs, and OLAs.

Key Responsibilities:
