Job summary

SummitLogic is seeking a skilled Database Administrator in Karachi to maintain and optimize our databases for secure storage and fast data retrieval. You will collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot issues and implement updates, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, proven DBA experience, and strong knowledge of MySQL and Oracle. Familiarity with Java or Python is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of database management systems (eg MySQL, Oracle).
• Experience with backup/recovery procedures, data security protocols, SQL query optimization techniques.

We are in need of a skilled Database Administrator to join our team in Karachi In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our companys databases to ensure efficient and secure data storage and retrieval You will also work closely with other IT professionals to troubleshoot any database-related issues and implement necessary updates and improvements

Responsibilities

• Install configure and upgrade database software
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify potential issues
• Develop backup and recovery strategies
• Ensure data integrity and security through regular maintenance backups and disaster recovery plans
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems
• Create and maintain database documentation including data standards procedures and definitions for the data dictionary
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as indexing purging old data and optimizing queries
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in database technology

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
• Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
• Excellent knowledge of database management systems eg MySQL Oracle
• Experience with backuprecovery procedures data security protocols SQL query optimization techniques
• Familiarity with programming languages eg Java Python is a plus
• Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Attention to detail and excellent time management skills
