Communications Officer
Overview

Jhpiego, an international non‑profit health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, has been a global leader in advancing maternal and child health for over 50 years across 150+ countries. Committed to preventing needless deaths and improving healthcare systems, Jhpiego partners with governments, civil society, and communities to drive evidence‑based interventions.

The Communications Officer will support the design, implementation, and documentation of the project’s strategic communication and SBCC activities under Punjab Family Planning Program (PFPP) aimed at increasing awareness through Social and Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) strategies in improving knowledge, attitudes, and practices of communities related to family planning in Punjab.

Responsibilities
  • Support the design and rollout of the project’s communication and SBCC strategy aligned with PFPP objectives and national family planning priorities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence‑based SBCC campaigns and culturally appropriate multimedia content (TV, radio, digital).
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding compliance with World Bank and PFPP communication guidelines.
  • Support in developing, reviewing, and editing communication products including success stories, press releases, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Support in managing digital platforms and enhance online visibility and engagement through regular content updates and analytics tracking.
  • Document project milestones, lessons learned, and best practices for internal and external dissemination.
  • Coordinate with M&E and technical teams to translate data and outcomes into accessible communication materials.
  • Liaise with government (PFPP) counterparts, partners, and media agencies to ensure harmonized messaging and visibility at national and provincial levels.
  • Support planning and execution of advocacy and community outreach events, ensuring effective branding and documentation.
  • Monitor communication activities and provide inputs for adaptive learning and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Development Studies, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in development communications or SBCC, preferably within health programs in Punjab.
  • Proven experience in content development, campaign management, and media engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Urdu; regional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools, social media analytics, and basic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
