Overview

Job Title: CAD Drafter – Ornamental Iron & Metal Work

Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite (Plaza ONE, G.T road near DHA Phase 2, Gate 1, Islamabad)

Timings: 02 PM - 11 PM (Pakistan Standard Time)

Description

We are looking for a skilled CAD Drafter with a background in ornamental iron work and metal fabrication. This role requires hands-on experience in creating detailed shop drawings, fabrication plans, and submittal documents for custom gates, railings, staircases, fences, and similar metal products. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction documents and the ability to interpret architectural and structural plans to create accurate, build-ready drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed shop and fabrication drawings for custom metal projects including gates, railings, fences, staircases, and other ironworks.
• Create submittal packages with dimensioned drawings, materials, and finish specifications for client and architectural approval.
• Interpret architectural and structural plans to produce accurate drawings aligned with project specifications and requirements.
• Modify and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, and project managers.
• Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and job-specific criteria.
• Maintain organized records of all drawing versions, submittals, and revisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams including estimators, fabricators, and project managers to ensure design intent and build accuracy.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting is essential; 3D is a plus).
• Prior experience in metal fabrication or ornamental ironwork is required.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, technical detailing, and submittal processes.
• Experience working with architectural and structural plans.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or other markup tools is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architectural Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred

• Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or similar 3D modeling tools.
• Familiarity with U.S. construction standards and codes is a plus.
