Job summary

Cloud Enterprise Business Solutions (CEBS) seeks a skilled BI Developer to assist the migration of our on‑premises Microsoft BI platform to an Azure data platform. You will translate complex T‑SQL logic into Azure data pipelines and models, and optimize queries for a cloud environment.

Ideal candidates will have deep SQL development skills, experience with SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, and a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts to ensure a smooth migration with business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a BI/SQL/Data Warehouse Developer or similar role.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server and T‑SQL expertise.
• Experience with SSIS/SSRS/SSAS and data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing SQL Server-based data warehouse solutions and understand business logic in T‑SQL.
• Translate rules and transformations into Azure-based data pipelines and models.
• Collaborate with users and technical teams to validate migrated solutions.
• Develop and optimize complex T‑SQL queries, procedures, views, and objects.
• Support and maintain SQL Server BI environment during migration.
• Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and testing for parity.
• Design and implement scalable cloud-based data solutions with the data team.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is focused on supporting the migration of our existing on-premises Microsoft BI platform to a modern Azure data platform.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, with the ability to understand, analyze, and translate complex business logic embedded in existing SQL-based solutions into modern cloud-based architectures.

While experience with Azure data technologies is desirable, we are primarily looking for someone with excellent SQL development skills who is eager to work with modern data engineering technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing SQL Server-based data warehouse solutions and understand business logic implemented in T-SQL.
• Translate existing business rules and transformations into Azure-based data pipelines and data models.
• Work closely with business users and technical teams to validate migrated solutions.
• Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database objects.
• Support and maintain the existing SQL Server BI environment during the migration period.
• Assist with data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure functional parity between legacy and Azure solutions.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to design and implement scalable cloud-based data solutions.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, optimize, and modernize existing ETL and reporting processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a BI Developer, SQL Developer, Data Warehouse Developer, or similar role.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Advanced knowledge of T‑SQL, including:
• Complex queries
• Stored procedures
• Functions
• Views
• CTEs
• Window functions
• Performance tuning and query optimization
• Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Working knowledge of:
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS – Multidimensional)
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to understand complex business processes embedded in SQL code.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with any of the following Azure technologies is highly desirable:

• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Azure Databricks
• Delta Lake
• Microsoft Fabric

Experience participating in cloud migration or data modernization projects is a significant advantage.
