Job summary

Indium is seeking an AI Engineer with Django backend expertise to lead AI-driven application development in an on-site Pakistan role. You will build scalable AI services, APIs, and platforms powering intelligent features across our products.

This position requires 3+ years in software development with Python/Django and experience with ML libraries, cloud platforms, and containers. You will mentor juniors and help ensure privacy, governance, and robust performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience, with at least 1 year in AI/ML projects.
• Strong expertise in Python with Django and Django REST Framework.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
• Experience in designing and deploying APIs for AI model inference and data pipelines.
• Proficient with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of software design principles, scalability, and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Preferred: FastAPI, NLP, computer vision, Kubeflow, MLflow, CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI/ML models into production environments using Django and RESTful APIs.
• Lead the integration of AI services with web platforms and applications.
• Build reusable components, libraries, and APIs to support various AI-driven features.
• Collaborate with data scientists, DevOps, and product teams to deliver end-to-end AI solutions.
• Optimize model inference and backend performance for real-time or batch-processing systems.
• Ensure data privacy, model governance, and compliance with ethical AI standards.
• Implement monitoring and logging for AI models and backend services.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making.
