Job description

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Embedded Hardware Developer with strong hands‑on expertise in designing and developing embedded electronic hardware for industrial products and harsh operating environments.

The ideal candidate should have a strong industrial product‑development background, preferably involving Flame Scanners, Flame Monitoring Equipment, Burner Controllers, PLC‑based Systems, Fuel Delivery Valves / Fuel Control Systems, Electrical Heating Systems, or Combustion Control Equipment.

The candidate will be responsible for hardware architecture, schematic design, component selection, design calculations, PCB design coordination, prototype development, verification and validation, troubleshooting, certification support, and product lifecycle activities.

The candidate should be capable of independently driving hardware development assignments with minimal supervision, taking ownership from requirements and concept development through prototype, validation, and product release. The individual should demonstrate strong engineering judgment, technical ownership, and problem‑solving ability, including the capability to investigate complex industrial problems, identify root causes, evaluate alternative solutions, and determine the most practical and reliable technical approach.

The role requires someone who is self‑driven and solution‑oriented, capable of finding their own path to solve challenging hardware and industrial application problems while collaborating effectively with firmware, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, quality, and other cross‑functional teams.

Honeywell Technologies is a global, pure‑play automation company with a legacy of innovating to help solve the world’s most mission‑critical challenges, enhancing the quality of life for people and communities around the world. We serve the building, industrial and process sectors with a broad portfolio of services, solutions and products, underpinned by our Honeywell Technologies Accelerator operating system and Honeywell Technologies Forge intelligence layer. By combining the deep domain expertise of our more than 50,000 employees with decades of data from our global installed base, we are uniquely positioned to lead the industrial sector’s transition from automation to autonomy.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop embedded electronic hardware for industrial products.
  • Design of Hardware architecture, schematics, circuit calculations, component selection, and documentation design.
  • Design analog, digital, power supply, microcontroller, sensor‑interface, communication, and I/O circuits.
  • Design hardware for industrial combustion and control applications is preferable,
    • Flame scanners and flame monitoring systems
    • Burner management / burner controllers
    • Fuel delivery and fuel control valves
    • PLC and industrial control interfaces
    • Electrical heating and heater‑control systems
    • Combustion safety and monitoring equipment
  • Interface sensors and actuators such as flame sensors, temperature sensors, pressure sensors, valves, relays, solenoids, heaters, and industrial transmitters.
  • Design robust industrial interfaces including digital I/O, analog I/O and industrial communication interfaces.
  • Develop and validate AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, protection circuits, isolation, signal conditioning, and driver circuits.
  • Perform component selection, tolerance analysis, power calculations, thermal analysis, and worst‑case circuit analysis as required.
  • Work closely with PCB designers on component placement, routing, grounding, isolation, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and design‑for‑manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead prototypes bring‑up, debugging, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis using laboratory equipment.
  • Develop hardware verification and validation plans and execute engineering tests.
  • Support EMI/EMC, environmental, reliability, safety, and regulatory testing.
  • Troubleshoot field and production failures and drive corrective/preventive design improvements.
  • Support component obsolescence, alternate component qualification, BOM optimization, and product sustaining activities.
  • Collaborate closely with embedded firmware, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, certification, and test engineering teams.

Conduct schematic/design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior hardware engineers
