Job summary

The Fat Chair in the Philippines is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to operate and maintain woodworking machines in carpentry production. You will ensure materials are cut, shaped, and finished to project specifications while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key duties include setting up machines, reading measurements and blueprints, inspecting finished work, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with material handling in the carpentry area.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or vocational course in carpentry, woodworking, or related field.
• At least 1–2 years of experience as a machine operator in a carpentry or furniture manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of woodworking machines and tools.
• Basic understanding of measurements, technical drawings, and material types.
• Physically fit and able to handle repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines such as saws, planers, routers, sanders, and edge banders.
• Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Set up machines before production to ensure proper calibration and smooth operation.
• Inspect finished materials to ensure they meet required dimensions and quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work area.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• Assist in material handling, preparation, and organization within the carpentry area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
