Our client is seeking a methodical, detail-driven Video Editor to take full ownership of the digital asset lifecycle across an animated comedy library.
In this role, you will bridge post-production editing with technical digital asset management (DAM). You will receive incoming creator deliverables, perform necessary video alterations (cutting intros, placing title cards, blurring sensitive content, adjusting scene sequences), verify SRT subtitle synchronization, and enrich assets with strict, platform-compliant metadata. Using proprietary content management software, you will package and dispatch ingest-ready delivery batches to major streaming networks, ensuring zero delivery rejections or formatting discrepancies.
Our client is an expanding US-based animation studio specializing in original animated comedy content distributed across premier FAST channels, AVOD networks, and major streaming platforms including Samsung TV Plus, Tubi, and FilmHub. Having built an extensive digital catalog over several years, the studio is expanding its operations team to scale delivery pipelines and maintain catalog integrity across third-party distribution partners. To manage this expanding media library, they are onboarding a dedicated remote Video Editor & Metadata Specialist.
Monday - Friday, 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week) (Exact schedule negotiable within US Eastern Standard Time business hours)
Ingest raw creator video files via Dropbox and coordinate file handoffs across post-production workflows.
Perform basic to mid-level video conform edits, including trimming intros/outros, cutting title cards, blurring sections for content compliance, and making light scene adjustments.
Audit, correct, and synchronize SRT closed caption and subtitle files using tools like Maestra or dedicated caption editors.
Verify that all exported video files, aspect ratios, audio levels, and thumbnail graphics meet strict platform delivery specifications.
Populate detailed, schema-compliant metadata for every asset (series title, episode name, season/episode numbers, loglines, synopses, cast, writers, genres, and ratings).
Enforce rigid file-naming conventions across all assets (show codes, episode numbering, and version tags).
Ingest master video files, captions, artwork, and metadata packages into the studio's custom content management platform.
Prepare, validate, and submit distribution batches directly to platforms such as Tubi, Samsung TV Plus, and FilmHub.
Maintain comprehensive asset tracking sheets and status boards to ensure timely delivery against distributor windows.
Re-edit, update, or re-package existing catalog assets as streaming partner technical specifications evolve.
Conduct regular quality assurance (QA) audits across the media repository to maintain a pristine, production-ready asset library.
