Our client is looking for an SEO Content Operations Specialist (WordPress) to own their end-to-end content delivery pipeline and help build client domain authority across search engines and AI assistants. In this role, you will bridge the gap between SEO strategy, freelance writers, client sign-offs, and CMS staging to ensure every published asset is accurate and high-performing. Over time, your role will evolve from operational workflow management into driving overall content strategy and deciding what gets created.
Part-time (20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling; some overlap with UK business hours required
Content Pipeline Management: Own the 9-stage content workflow from initial brief through drafting, reviewing, client sign-off, and CMS publication.
Briefing & Editorial Control: Write precise briefs for freelance writers, review incoming drafts against specifications, and perform editing to ensure high publication standards.
On-Page & Existing Content Optimization: Audit underperforming existing assets, brief rewrites, execute internal linking strategies, and update outdated page templates.
Accuracy & Compliance Audits: Verify all published copy against client-provided truth files (addresses, accreditations, branch details, service claims) and issue fixes.
CMS Staging & Quality Control: Format, build, and finalize draft pages directly inside various CMS platforms before setting them live.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Manage freelance writers, brief the upload team, and actively chase client approvals to prevent pipeline bottlenecks.
SEO Content Background: Proven experience managing or writing SEO-focused content with a strong understanding of on-page optimization and search intent.
Editorial & Briefing Skills: Ability to write clear, actionable briefs and provide specific, constructive feedback to writers (pinpointing exactly what needs fixing and why).
CMS Proficiency: Direct, hands-on experience building, formatting, and publishing pages in WordPress (Shopify, Webflow, or HubSpot experience is a strong plus).
Pipeline Ownership: Exceptional organizational skills with a proactive habit of following up on pending approvals without needing reminders.
Basic On-Page Technical Literacy: Ability to manage internal linking, anchor text strategies, metadata, and structural page templates.
Not a Full-Time Copywriting Role: You will edit, polish, and occasionally write high-stakes pieces, but freelance writers handle the bulk of raw draft creation.
Not Account Management or Technical SEO: You will not handle client retainers, site crawls, redirects, or technical site health.
3 Months: Fully owning the content pipeline; zero pieces stalled without clear status updates.
6 Months: Freelancers deliver consistently against your briefs; client sign-offs run smoothly with minimal friction.
12 Months: Standard operating procedures, page templates, and client guidelines are fully documented, and you actively set the monthly content strategy.
