Job description

1. Welding and Fabrication

• Perform welding operations using SMAW, MIG, TIG, FCAW, or other welding processes as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Fabricate metal components and structures according to specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools.

2. Material Preparation and Assembly

• Measure, cut, and prepare metal materials using saws, grinders, torches, or shears
• Align, clamp, and tack-weld components in preparation for final welding.
• Fit and assemble metal parts to ensure proper alignment and dimensions.

3. Quality Control

• Inspect completed welds for accuracy, defects, and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct testing of welds (visual inspection, NDT assistance, etc.).Repair and re-weld faulty joints as needed.

4. Safety and Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE (gloves, helmet, goggles, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
• Ensure compliance with welding codes, company standards, and regulatory requirements.

5. Equipment Maintenance

• Clean, adjust, and maintain welding machines and tools.
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment promptly.
• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment efficiency and safety.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and welding parameters.
• Report progress and issues to supervisors or project managers.

7. Collaboration and Communication

• Work with fabricators, engineers, fitters, and other team members to complete projects.
• Provide input or technical advice when needed.
