Responsibilities

• Safe Operation: Operate trucks, vans, or tractor-trailers to transport goods to designated locations while complying with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and inspections of the vehicle, including tire pressure, oil, and fluid levels, and report any mechanical issues.
• Cargo Handling: Load and unload goods, ensuring they are properly secured and accounted for to prevent damage or loss during transport.
• Route Planning: Plan efficient routes using GPS or other navigation tools to ensure timely deliveries.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of hours driven, rest stops, miles covered, and fuel and toll expenses, as required by law.
• Delivery & Documentation: Document deliveries, obtain customer signatures upon receipt, and handle all necessary transport documents.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatchers to coordinate routes and deliveries, and with management regarding delays, accidents, or mechanical problems.
• Compliance: Follow company policies, trucking regulations, including mandatory rest periods and weight restrictions.
