• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Minimum of 8 years experience in transformer maintenance, electrical systems, or industrial power operations.
• Strong knowledge of power transformers, electrical testing, and maintenance practices.
• Experience in troubleshooting medium voltage/high voltage electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of power and distribution transformers.
• Conduct inspection and assessment of transformer components including bushings, windings, OLTC, cooling, oil systems, protection devices and control panels.
• Perform transformer testing and analysis (insulation resistance, TTR, winding resistance, oil testing, DGA, power factor, thermography).
• Diagnose transformer issues and recommend corrective maintenance solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance findings, and recommendations.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and schedules.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Transformer Maintenance Engineer responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement of power transformers and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in transformer diagnostics, preventive maintenance planning, and corrective actions to ensure safe and efficient operation of electrical systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of power and distribution transformers.

• Conduct inspection and assessment of transformer components, including:

  • Bushings

  • Windings

  • Tap changers (OLTC)

  • Cooling systems

  • Transformer oil systems

  • Protection devices and control panels

• Perform transformer testing and analysis, including:

  • Insulation resistance testing

  • Transformer turns ratio (TTR)

  • Winding resistance testing

  • Oil testing and Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA)

  • Power factor testing

  • Thermographic inspection

• Diagnose transformer issues and recommend corrective maintenance solutions.

• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.

• Prepare technical reports, maintenance findings, and recommendations.

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and schedules.

• Support transformer installation, commissioning, repair, and rehabilitation activities.

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and technical service providers.

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and company standards.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to electrical technicians and junior engineers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Licensed Electrical Engineer (preferred).

• Minimum of 8 years experience in transformer maintenance, electrical systems, or industrial power operations.

• Strong knowledge of power transformers, electrical testing, and maintenance practices.

• Experience in troubleshooting medium voltage/high voltage electrical equipment.

• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and maintenance procedures.

• Ability to prepare technical reports and analyze test results.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in power plants, utilities, manufacturing, or industrial facilities.

• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and electrical maintenance standards.

• Experience using transformer diagnostic equipment and testing instruments.

• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
