Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of proven experience driving heavy-duty vehicles or trailers.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Basic understanding of routine vehicle maintenance and minor troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Drive large tractor-trailers or semi-trucks to deliver cargo on schedule.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck, trailer, brakes, tires, and fluids.
• Ensure loads are balanced, braced, and secured before departure.
• Navigate using GPS tools and maps; obey traffic laws and weight limits.
• Keep accurate driver logs of working hours, delivery receipts, and inspection reports.
• Report mechanical issues, delays, or road incidents to dispatchers or fleet managers.

A Trailer Truck Driver safely operates heavy commercial vehicles to transport freight, equipment, or materials over local or long-distance routes.

Key responsibilities

• Drive large tractor-trailers or semi-trucks to deliver cargo to designated destinations on schedule

• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, brakes, tires, and fluid levels

• Ensure all loads are balanced, braced, and safely secured using straps, chains, or safety locks before departure

• Navigate efficiently using GPS tools and maps while obeying all traffic laws and weight limits

• Keep accurate driver logs of working hours, delivery receipts, and inspection reports

• Report mechanical issues, delays, or road incidents immediately to dispatchers or fleet managers
