Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and inspect surfaces for tile application, including cleaning, levelling and waterproofing as required.
• Mix and apply adhesives, mortar or bonding agents with appropriate tools.
• Cut and shape tiles to fit areas and design requirements.
• Install tiles in straight lines with accurate alignment and use levels/guides.
• Grout tiles and seal joints; clean excess grout/adhesives.

About the role

Polystar General Services Inc. is seeking experienced Tile Setters to join our growing team on an augmentation basis. This is a full-time position based in Pasay City, Metro Manila. As a Tile Setter, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality tile installation services across our diverse range of commercial and residential projects. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of craftsmanship and durability.

What you’ll be doing

• Prepare and inspect surfaces to ensure they are suitable for tile application, including cleaning, levelling and waterproofing as required

• Mix and apply adhesive, mortar or other bonding agents to surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques

• Precisely cut and shape tiles using manual and power tools to fit specific areas and design requirements

• Install tiles in straight lines and proper alignment, checking regularly with levels and guides to maintain accuracy

• Grout tiles after installation, ensuring all gaps are properly filled and joints are sealed

• Clean excess grout and adhesive from tile surfaces and grout lines using appropriate cleaning methods

• Follow project specifications, blueprints and design layouts to ensure work meets client expectations and quality standards

• Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and project teams to ensure seamless coordination on-site

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies

• Inspect completed work and make any necessary adjustments to ensure finished surfaces are level, durable and aesthetically pleasing

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience as a Tile Setter, with a demonstrated track record of completing residential, commercial or industrial tiling projects

• Strong knowledge of tile installation methods, materials, adhesives and grouting techniques

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in tile setting, including tile cutters, grinders and levels

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and project specifications accurately

• Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering work that meets or exceeds quality standards

• Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions for extended periods, including standing, bending and kneeling

• Strong problem-solving skills to address site-specific challenges and adapt to project requirements

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors

• A valid driver's license is preferred to enable mobility to various project sites

• Knowledge of health and safety practices in the construction trades is essential
