Job summary

Welding technician position in a manufacturing setting requiring TIG welding expertise. The role involves reading drawings, interpreting specifications, operating weld gauges and handheld tools, and performing quality checks to ensure conforming welds. Candidates must maintain machines, manage inventory, and adhere to safety standards.

Overtime or rotating shifts may be required. Applicants should have a high school diploma or vocational training in welding, with proven TIG welding experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational/technical training in welding or related field.
• Proven experience as a TIG Welder (GTAW) in manufacturing or fabrication.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Skilled in welding various materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel.
• Familiarity with welding codes and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
• Ability to perform visual inspection and basic quality checks on welds.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in a workshop environment.
• Willingness to work overtime or on shifting schedules if needed.
• Welding certification is an advantage (if required by the company).

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow basic drawings specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create products.

• Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times.
• Maintain inventory of manufacturing products and welding consumables
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
• Identify product Quality defects and rectify if needed.
• Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to Drawing specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
