Job summary

ABSI is seeking a Telecom O&M Technician to install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and network infrastructure. The role aims to ensure optimal network performance, minimal downtime, and high service quality.

The technician will perform inspections, monitor performance, assist in installation, and document activities. On-site work, including towers or remote locations, is required and adherence to safety procedures is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Experience in telecom, networking, or IT operations is preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Willingness to work on-site, including towers or remote locations.
• Knowledge of network protocols and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on telecom equipment (switches, routers, base stations, fiber optics).
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, signal quality, and hardware failures.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new network equipment and infrastructure.
• Document maintenance activities, service reports, and network incidents accurately.
• Coordinate with engineers, field teams, and other departments to resolve technical issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Support network upgrades and expansions as required.
