  • Ability to write clear technical documents and convey complex ideas.
  • Physically fit to travel and manage on-site operations.

Responsibilities

  • Construction & Quality Assurance: oversee technical requirements to ensure ERD compliance.
  • Site Inspection: inspect delivery, assembly, and installation of floating structures, PV panels, inverters, and HV equipment.
  • Specialized Systems: verify anchoring/mooring against bathymetric data and witness pull tests.
  • Grid Integration: interface with NGCP to ensure compliance with the Philippine Grid Code.
  • Commissioning: supervise testing and commissioning of floating solar systems, including insulation tests.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: manage on-site issues and provide engineering solutions.

Job description

The Technical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the EPC contractor and subcontractors execute the design of the 50 MWac Magat Floating Solar project within the agreed scope, technical specifications, and Employer’s Requirements Document (ERD). This role focuses on technical excellence across the project lifecycle, particularly during construction, high-voltage grid interconnection, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction & Quality Assurance: Oversee technical requirements of the project value chain to ensure compliance with standards and the ERD.
  • Site Inspection: Inspect the delivery, assembly, and installation of floating structures, PV panels, inverters, and high-voltage equipment.
  • Specialized Systems: Verify anchoring and mooring system configurations against bathymetric data and witness anchor pull tests.
  • Grid Integration: Act as the technical interface with the System Operator (NGCP) to ensure compliance with the Philippine Grid Code.
  • Commissioning: Supervise testing and commissioning of floating solar electrical systems, including insulation and grid compliance tests.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Manage onsite technical issues and provide engineering solutions to construction challenges.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering. A Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Licensure: Must be a Licensed Engineer with a valid PRC ID.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of combined experience in project technical management and engineering design for renewable energy, specifically solar projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PVsyst and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of the Philippine Grid Code and high-voltage interconnection.
  • Expertise in technical writing and conveyance of complex engineering ideas.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit to travel and manage onsite operations.
