Job summary

Aurecon Group is seeking a detail-oriented Surveyor to join our geospatial and surveying team. You will extract and interrogate survey data from point clouds, GIS datasets and digital drawings to support water, land development, infrastructure and transport projects.

Based in Manila with regional collaboration across Australia, you will maintain data quality, resolve data discrepancies with surveyors and GIS specialists, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to surveying

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years Surveyor experience.
• Experience in surveying, GIS, geomatics, geospatial analysis, or other related fields.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, TopoDot, Leica Cyclone, Leica 3DR or equivalent platforms would be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of survey accuracy, datum, projection, coordinate systems, and spatial data management.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data quality and timeliness.
• Ability to interpret point cloud information and call out limitations of data.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Portfolio of relevant projects (1-2 pages) to accompany the application.

• Ensure compliance with relevant surveying standards, regulations, and company procedures.

What will you do?

We are seeking detail-oriented and technically skilled Surveyor to join our geospatial and surveying team.

In this role, you will be responsible for extracting and interrogating survey information mostly from point cloud but also from other datasets such as:

• Digital drawings, hard copy plans, GIS or imagery datasets and other spatial data sources to support water, land development, infrastructure, and transport projects.

The successful candidates will work closely with our survey leads in Queensland and NSW, Australia with connections to our Aurecon Geospatial team based in Manila who have surveying experience. They will also support extraction and interrogation work for our South Australia, Victoria and New Zealand regions.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with surveying and geospatial technologies are essential.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4 years Surveyor experience.
• Experience in surveying, GIS, geomatics, geospatial analysis, or other related fields.
• Proficiency with software such as MicroStation, TopoDot, Leica Cyclone, Leica 3DR or equivalent platforms would be a distinct advantage.
• Strong understanding of survey accuracy, datum, projection, coordinate systems, and spatial data management.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data quality and timeliness.
• Ability to interpret point cloud information and call out limitations of data.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Autodesk Plant 3D and Revit experience is not essential, but desirable.
• Be able to supply as part of the application a 1-2-page portfolio of relevant projects where the candidate has been involved with and what outputs were produced, even if these are as part of studying or training.
