Aboitiz Construction, Inc. is hiring an Assistant Manager, Procurement in the Philippines to lead end-to-end sourcing for high-value materials and services, focusing on Category 1 with heavy emphasis on strategic sourcing and supplier collaboration.

You will manage spend analysis, develop category strategies, and mentor a procurement team while coordinating with Project Management, Engineering, and Finance to meet project timelines and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• MBA or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage
• At least 5–7 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably in construction, engineering, or industrial sectors
• Strong knowledge of category management, supplier evaluation, contract management, and cost analysis
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities

Responsibilities

• End-to-end sourcing and procurement for high-value items, ensuring competitiveness and compliance
• Oversee Categories 2 and 3 with focus on Category 2 (structural steel, cement, aggregates, ME/EL packages)
• Conduct spend analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Lead commodity research and market analysis to support sourcing decisions
• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business goals
• Support supplier negotiations to achieve optimal terms
• Act as second level of escalation for procurement issues
• Participate in Daily Grind meetings for Construction projects and attend Maintenance sessions as needed
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Finance, and other departments to ensure alignment
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure continuous improvement in delivery, quality, and cost
• Review and assess procurement processes for efficiency and control
• Support digital transformation and automation initiatives in SCM
• Contribute to policy formulation and process standardization
• Lead, mentor, and develop procurement team members
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team
• Oversee workload distribution, performance monitoring, and competency development
• Prepare reports and presentations on procurement performance, savings, and supplier analytics
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, ethical sourcing, and sustainability initiatives
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Procurement Manager or SCM Head
