Job summary

SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a Category Sourcing Lead to develop and execute category strategies, manage sourcing activities, and optimize supplier performance across plants and functions.

You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Finance, QA and more to deliver measurable savings, risk reduction, and standardization across assigned spend areas. Leadership of sourcing officers and continuous improvement are key expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, SCM, Business, Commerce or related field.
• 5–8 years in progressive procurement or category management with leadership experience.
• Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier performance management.
• Proven track record delivering savings and commercial value across categories.
• Experience mentoring junior staff is required.
• Expertise in category strategy development, sourcing, and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies and 1-3 year action plans.
• Build and prioritize sourcing pipeline and contract renewal plans.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing events including RFQ/RFP and negotiations.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, QA and others to align requirements.
• Deliver sustainable savings and total cost improvements across categories.
• Develop commercial terms and risk provisions for contracts and sourcing awards.
• Develop supplier strategies and alternative-source roadmaps to reduce risk.
• Own supplier relationships and drive performance management and continuous improvement.
• Monitor market trends, cost drivers, and category risks; advise stakeholders.
• Lead, coach and develop Category Sourcing Officers and ensure process discipline.
