Job summary

University Home Lacson in Manila is seeking a hands-on STP and Building Maintenance Technician to operate and monitor the Sewage Treatment Plant and related equipment. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, record keeping, and coordinate with contractors.

You should be physically fit, able to work shifts, weekends or holidays, and capable of troubleshooting electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• At least High School/Vocational graduate; technical or engineering-related education is an advantage.
• Preferably with experience in building maintenance, facilities management, wastewater treatment, or STP operations.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance.
• Knowledge of STP operation and wastewater treatment processes is an advantage.
• Physically fit and willing to perform hands-on maintenance work.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call duties when required.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Sewage Treatment Plant and its related equipment.
• Conduct regular inspection of pumps, blowers, motors, tanks, pipes, valves, and control panels.
• Monitor wastewater treatment processes and ensure proper operation of the system.
• Check and record STP readings, equipment status, water levels, and other operating parameters.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of STP equipment.
• Assist in maintaining proper chemical levels and handling treatment chemicals safely.
• Report unusual odors, leaks, equipment abnormalities, or operational problems immediately.
• Maintain accurate STP operation and maintenance logs.
• Coordinate with accredited contractors or service providers for specialized STP maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct regular inspection of building facilities, equipment, and common areas.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and facility-related concerns.
• Assist in preventive maintenance activities for pumps, generators, water systems, electrical equipment, and other building facilities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in clean and safe condition.
• Assist contractors and service providers during repair, inspection, and maintenance activities.
• Follow company safety policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing maintenance and STP-related work.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and maintenance materials.
• Immediately report safety hazards, equipment failures, and environmental concerns to the immediate supervisor.
• Assist in emergency response and facility-related incidents when required.
• Maintain daily maintenance and STP operation records.
• Prepare reports on equipment conditions, maintenance activities, and repairs conducted.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and report upcoming requirements.
• Maintain records of inspections, chemical usage, equipment readings, and service activities.
