Overview
The Staff Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, or systems within a specified work environment. This role involves monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring that production or operational targets are met. The Staff Operator will work collaboratively with other team members to maintain smooth and continuous operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery, equipment, or systems in accordance with operational guidelines and safety procedures.
- Monitor the operation of equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning optimally.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Report any defects or operational failures to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Keep accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance, and operational logs.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure that the work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Participate in safety training and drills as required.
- Work closely with supervisors, maintenance teams, and other operators to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues.
- Communicate effectively to report on operations, issues, and improvements.
- Suggest and implement improvements in processes and operations for increased efficiency and reduced costs.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of new technologies or operational procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or relevant training is a plus.
- Prior experience operating machinery, equipment, or systems in a similar industry (manufacturing, production, energy, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial or operational environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
