Job summary

True North Insights in Manila (Makati) is seeking a Staff Full-Stack Engineer to own the end-to-end development of our web-based database application. You will work across backend, frontend, and database layers, partnering with Product and Operations to deliver impactful software.

The role requires senior-level hands-on expertise with Java/Spring, database design, and frontend delivery, plus experience with AWS and AI-assisted coding tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent staff-level ownership.
• Experience with backend development and production database-driven web apps.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Strong relational DB design, data modeling and SQL skills.
• Experience delivering production-quality frontend features.
• Experience deploying, operating, and monitoring production apps on AWS.
• Ownership of production systems including incident response and reliability improvements.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools as part of development workflow.
• Experience with GDPR, SOC 2, ISO27001 or similar security standards.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of major product features from design through deployment and support.
• Design and build backend services using Java and Spring.
• Maintain and evolve database architecture and queries for performance and scale.
• Develop production-quality frontend features and collaborate with product teams.
• Work with stakeholders to identify problems and deliver software solutions.
• Contribute to technical architecture and engineering standards.
• Participate in hiring and mentoring engineers as the team grows.
