We are seeking an experienced Sr. Contracts Management Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will lead and manage all contract-related activities from pre-contract bidding to post-contract execution within projects, ensuring contractual compliance, cost control, timely billing, and effective management of variations and claims to maximize project profitability and reduce risk.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Analyze tender documents including scope of work, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare and coordinate pricing, technical/commercial bid submissions, and pre-qualification documents.
  • Identify and evaluate contractual risks, obligations, and opportunities during tender stage.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders during tender process.
  • Support negotiations with clients and subcontractors for optimal contract terms.

Post-Contract - Contracts/Commercial Management:

  • Administer main and subcontract agreements in alignment with project goals and client expectations.
  • Monitor contractual obligations to ensure compliance by all parties.
  • Provide contract interpretation and advise project teams on contractual rights and obligations.
  • Maintain contract documentation and manage correspondence with clients and subcontractors.

Post-Contract - Variation Management:

  • Identify, prepare, and submit variations/claims including cost, time, and scope changes.
  • Ensure timely negotiation and resolution of variations with clients and subcontractors.
  • Support project teams in managing scope creep and ensuring variation approvals are documented.
  • Collaborate with QS, site engineers, and planning teams to evaluate cost/time impact.
  • Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications in line with contract milestones and client requirements.
  • Track and follow up on payment certifications and collections.
  • Coordinate with finance and project teams to ensure alignment of billed amounts with executed work.
  • Review and verify subcontractor billing, progress claims, and compliance with contract terms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
  • Must be a Registered Engineer with a recognized professional body or licensing authority.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in contract/commercial management, specifically in fit-out or interior construction
  • Proven experience handling pre-contract and post-contract activities including bidding, variations, and billing
  • Certification in contract management (e.g., MRICS, PMP, FIDIC) is an added advantage
