Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience in the wireless, high-tech, manufacturing, or insurance industry preferred.
  • CPA preferred; proficiency in cost accounting and financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead contact for DAX inventory accounting system.
  • Develop informational tools and provide inputs for KPI reports.
  • Participate in month-end closing activities and cost analysis.

Job description

Senior Analyst, Inventory Accounting

The Sr. Analyst, Inventory Accounting ensures inventory costs are properly accounted for, inventory management controls are consistently complied with, and risks associated are timely assessed and managed. This role will partner with key stakeholders to attain inventory management metrics and goals, support U.S. operations, act as the main contact for DAX system set‑up, and provide financial and business support to management and other internal customers.

Responsibilities
  • Act as lead contact for DAX inventory accounting system and related concerns.
  • Develop informational and reporting tools, provide key inputs to the FP&A team for KPI reports, forecasts, cost analysis, and AOP processes.
  • Participate in month‑end closing activities, including cost allocation and analysis.
  • Review and analyze inventory‑related transactions and reconciliations, post journal entries, and send out reports to intended recipients within agreed timelines.
  • Work with department owners to assess inventory exposures and prepare necessary reserves, updating reserve calculation assumptions regularly.
  • Analyze process constraints, margin and cost analysis, and check accuracy of revenue and cost account postings to ensure proper roll‑up to the P&L report.
  • Lead the team on balance sheet reviews, providing insights on inventory movements, raising concerns about inventory level risks, and recommending counteractions.
  • Participate in P&L management review focusing on revenue and COGS accounts.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and project implementations to broaden analytical and business support capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX audit requirements by driving adherence to identified controls and reviewing processes for key and non‑key controls.
  • Lead preparation and updating of SOX‑related documentation and liaise with auditors on inventory, cost allocation and L&OH matters.
  • Support ASC management on ad‑hoc requests and other finance related tasks.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting or related business/finance discipline.
  • 5 to 7+ years overall experience in Finance and Accounting with a strong background in inventory and costing.
  • Experience in the wireless, high‑tech, manufacturing, or insurance industry preferred.
  • CPA preferred; pro‑ficiency in cost accounting, financial systems, finance audit, general accounting, and account reconciliation.
  • Core competencies: cost accounting; financial systems understanding; internal control over financial reporting; general accounting; account reconciliation; attention to detail; business acumen; cross‑cultural data mining for effective decisions; effective communication/presentation; effective time management; MS Office applications; self‑knowledge (self‑awareness).
