Job summary

Runnymede College in Madrid seeks an outstanding Spanish language and literature teacher to join the Senior School from September 2026. The successful candidate will be passionate about Spanish language, literature, geography, history and culture, and committed to achieving the very best for pupils at all levels.

They should engage and motivate learners with effective teaching and differentiation, and contribute to co-curricular life of the school.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Philology from a Spanish university.
• Qualified teaching certificate – Master in Teacher Training or CAP or equivalent.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration in planning and resourcing.
• Ability to modify learning strategies to meet individual student needs.
• High expectations of pupil effort and behaviour with strong classroom management.
• Organised and able to prioritise to meet deadlines.
• Motivated and able to use initiative to contribute to the department's success.
• Native level Spanish speaker (L1).
• Very good English level (C1 or equivalent).
• Good ICT knowledge and ICT use in the classroom.
• Previous international school or British school experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish Language and Literature and Spanish as a Foreign Language to Senior School students.
• Engage and motivate students using effective teaching methods and differentiation.
• Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
