Wabtec Corporation is seeking an accomplished Sourcing Execution Leader to drive long-term sourcing, supplier consolidation, and localization programs. This role focuses on deflation, efficiency, and simplification of the supply base while aligning with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have 15–22 years in sourcing, with deep expertise in casting, machining, fabrication, forging, andERP systems such as SAP/Oracle. Strong data analytics and risk management are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 15–22 years of experience in sourcing and end-to-end supply chain management.
  • Proven track record in localization and supplier development programs.
  • Expertise in supplier negotiation, capacity planning, inventory optimization, VMI, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and strong data analytics skills.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with US or European companies

Responsibilities

  • Commodity Management & Strategic Sourcing Execution for casting, machining, fabrication, engineering systems and forging components.
  • Lead cost deflation targets through negotiations, value engineering and alternate sourcing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and suppliers for timely development of new parts.
  • Drive localization initiatives to reduce imports and improve lead times.
  • Conduct supplier audits and maintain scorecards for continuous improvement.
  • Lead supplier capability assessments and sign long-term frame agreements.
  • Collaborate with Central Sourcing to resolve issues with preferred suppliers.

Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished sourcing execution leader to lead long-term sourcing initiatives, supplier consolidation, and localization programs to optimize supply chain. This role is pivotal in driving deflation/PPV, operational efficiency, reducing complexity, and ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.

The ideal candidatemust have a strong background in commodity sourcing (Machining/Fabrication/Casting/Engineering Systems & Forging), supplier capability development & risk mitigation, with a proven track record of driving supplier development, simplification of supply chain, total cost of value chain and supply base rationalization and localization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commodity Management & Strategic Sourcing Execution: (Casting, Machining, Fabrication, Engineering Systems & Forging) management

  • Executing sourcing strategies for Casting, Machining, Fabrication, Engineering Systems, and Forging components.
  • Achieve annual cost deflation targets through negotiations, value engineering, and alternate sourcing.
  • Collaborate with engineering and suppliers for timely development of new parts.
  • Ensure localization initiatives to reduce dependency on imports and optimize lead times.
  • Assess and improve supplier capacity to meet current and future demand.
  • Implement capacity-building programs and monitor progress against agreed timelines.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits covering quality, delivery, and compliance.
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply chain.
  • Ensure risk mitigation by developing alternate sources for critical components.
  • Track and report KPIs such as cost deflation, part development timelines, supplier capacity utilization, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Use data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with Central Sourcing team to elevate & resolve the issues related to preferred suppliers.
  • Build and manage aregional supplier baseto enhance localization, reduce lead times, and improve logistics responsiveness. Key topics will include rubber localisation, existing C class purchase from global inter-company entities.
  • Leadsupplier capability assessmentsincluding capacity, quality systems, and risk profiles.
  • Responsible and accountable for signing long term frame agreement with supplier
  • Responsible and accountable for simplifying supplier landscape through supplier reduction, consolidation, signing long term frame agreement with supplier
  • Responsible for supplier QBR ( quarterly business review) calendar and action closures
  • Lead transformation of supplier capabilities – reduce subcontracting activities
  • Responsible for make-buy decision

2. Long-Term Strategic Initiatives:

  • Drivesupplier consolidationto streamline operations and reduce supply chain complexity.
  • Lead initiatives to reduceSupplier Lead Time (LT)andMinimum Order Quantities (MOQs), improving agility and inventory management.
  • ImplementVendor Managed Inventory (VMI)programs to optimize stock levels and enhance service levels.
  • Responsible and accountable for supplier capacity assessmentsto ensure capability alignment with long-term volume requirements.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as theprimary interfacewith Central Purchasing and Supplier Quality teams to align onOTD, quality, and performance improvement plans.
  • Support internal stakeholders across Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance through transparent communication and results-driven execution.
