Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 5+ years with JavaScript stack; 5-10 years in core web apps.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and project management skills.
• Experience with AWS or other clouds; DevOps mindset.
• Exposure to React/Angular, Express, MongoDB, Node.js, TS.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture decisions across teams.
• Mentor and coach engineers; drive code quality and reviews.
• Develop with MongoDB, Nest.js, Next.js, Node.js and PHP/MySQL.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and agile planning.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and performant software delivery.

Specifically, what you will do.

Career Team is seeking a strong Software Team Lead who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. This is a technical leadership role responsible for mentoring and training others, as well as guiding design and architecture decisions. You will build amazing things using MongoDB, Nest.js, Next.js, and Node.js and/or PHP/MySql. On any given day, you’ll be coding (writing, reviewing, deploying, testing); this is our bread and butter and our passion. You can expect to be part of regular Scrum Ceremonies—though each team may have its own flavor—and you will have ample opportunity to innovate and make a real impact on our software. This role will expand over time and is a great way to help accelerate your career!

Please note, this is a highly technical role and also requires excellence in all aspects of software engineering. To be successful in this position, you should have a desire to operate in a dynamic, rapidly evolving business environment. You’ll need to seek information independently or within your team to understand complex integrations and challenges, and be ready to ideate creative solutions that navigate obstacles and solve problems for the organization.

In this role, you will work from 10:00pm to 7:00am PHST.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering;
• 5+ years of experience developing with JavaScript stack or equivalent;
• Working experience with PHP is a strong plus;
• 5 - 10 years of core web apps development experience (front end & back-end);
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, effective collaboration & communication skills;
• Exposure to VSCode, Postman, Jira, GitHub, Terraform, Jenkins, and Docker;
• Exposure to building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale;
• Exposure to Angular/React, Express, MongoDB, NodeJS, JavaScript and TypeScript;
• Exposure to Cloud based platforms in providing scalable solutions using DevOps;
• Exposure to developing & deploying RESTful webservices in XML, JSON, JavaScript & JQuery;
• Experience in Middleware, Open-Source tools & technologies;
• Experience reviewing code deeply and providing coaching to peer on best practices;
• Experience leading teams, and projects from inception to completion;
• Experience with direct management of employees;
• Experience in AWS or other cloud technologies;
• Experience reviewing and fixing security related issues;
• Experience working on multiple platforms (OS - Linux, Windows).
