Job summary

ITJ is seeking a Python Engineer to analyze data from assays and software under development, designing and developing algorithms to support our platforms and products.

The role involves collaborating with Product Development on study design, analysis, and requirement gathering to build modular software for integration into pipelines, with emphasis on robust coding practices and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education as outlined in the essential duties.
• Solid experience with Backend services using Python.
• Solid experience with AWS Lambdas.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, SQS or Kafka.
• Experience with DynamoDB.
• Experience with GitLab Pipelines, Docker, and YAML.
• Extensive experience in computing environments and associated tools.
• Ability to write custom code in at least one programming or scripting language.
• Experience with software ticketing, progress tracking, and timeline tracking systems: JIRA, Smartsheet.
• Knowledge and adherence to good coding and documentation practices.
• Basic computer skills include Internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.

Job description

The Python Engineer will analyze data produced by assays and software applications under development by our Customer and design and develop new algorithms and applications to support our company's platforms and products.

This position also entails partnering with Product Development teams on study design planning, analysis, and result interpretation, and gathering requirements to develop modules to be integrated into software products.

The position requires a basic understanding of data structures and files commonly used in bioinformatics and statistical methods.

• Solid experience with AWS Lambdas


• Experience with event-driven architecture, SQS (queue), or Kafka


• Experience with DynamoDB


• Experience with Gitlab Pipelines, Docker, and YAML.


• Extensive experience in computing environments and associated tools.


• Ability to write custom code in at least one programming or scripting language.


• Experience with software ticketing, progress tracking, and timeline tracking systems: JIRA, Smartsheet.
