The Anduril Imaging team develops state‑of‑the‑art imaging systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. We are seeking a software engineer to serve as the interfaces lead for Anduril’s new airborne combat imaging and targeting sensor. In this role, you will be a core contributor to the software team; developing a robust and comprehensive ICD for the device, creating frontends for developers and pilots, and assisting the team in achieving our ambitious goals.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and provide thorough documentation for an OMS‑compliant ICD.
• Develop critical documentation that describes the function and execution of deliverable software products.
• Build live imagery viewing and command applications for fighter pilot cockpit displays.
• Own the real‑time software implementation of interfaces for new airborne combat imaging & targeting sensors.
• Work on challenging problems in a fast‑paced environment.
• Travel expected approximately 10% of the time for testing.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience.
• Strong analytical & critical thinking and problem‑solving skills and an ability to communicate ideas clearly.
• Strong background in C++, and the ability to write performant code with good memory management.
• Strong background with Python.
• Must be familiar with git.
• Team‑player, self‑motivated, driven, organized.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• An understanding of transport‑layer networking, ideally with some familiarity with radio communication.
• Previous experience with real‑time processing in compute‑constrained environments.
• Some experience with Javascript and React or willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with Nix or NixOS is rare, but extremely valuable.

US Salary Range

$138,000 - $207,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
