Job summary

Avaloq Philippines Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join the DevOps and QA team in the Philippines.

You will contribute to Shift-Left automation for the Avaloq Banking Suite using Java, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Gradle, and related tech stacks. You will collaborate with Developers, Test Managers, Release Managers and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality automation solutions, participate in an agile environment, and help shape testing strategies across

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and associated frameworks (e.g. JEE, Spring, OSGi, Angular).
• Experience with REST APIs and message-based systems (XML, JSON).
• Strong written and spoken English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality Java code and maintain robust frameworks and tools for Shift-Left automation using Java and microservices with REST APIs.
• Debug complex software issues and optimize application performance through targeted code improvements and refactoring.
• Collaborate with product owners to understand and prioritize requirements and work with configuration specialists and fellow engineers to meet standards.
• Own and accountable for specific components of the frameworks and tools.
• Collaborate with development teams on applications and microservices.

Job Description

Your team:

As a member of the DevOps and QA team, you will be part of a group of highly skilled, motivated and dynamic people that are responsible for a central part of the Avaloq Banking Suite. You will be part of the team responsible for automation and innovation of Shift-Left QA for the Avaloq solution used by banks in the global market.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will work in close cooperation with Developers, Test Managers, Release Managers, and other key stakeholders with the objective to deliver high-quality Shift-Left automation solutions that meet customer needs and requirements.You will get the opportunity to work with technology stacks including Java, Kubernetes, OpenShift,Gradle, just to name a few.

Your tasks:

• Develop high-quality Java code and maintainrobust frameworks and tools for Shift-Leftautomation, utilizing Java and microservices with REST APIfor both new features and enhancements.
• Debug complex software issues and optimize application performance through targeted code improvements and systematic refactoring.
• Collaborate with product owners to understand and prioritize requirements. Ensure cohesive partnership with configuration specialists and fellow software engineers to meet team standards.
• Assuming ownership and accountability for specific components of the frameworks and tools.
• Engaging in collaborative efforts with development teams working on applications and microservices.
• Operating within an agile environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and associated frameworks (e.g. JEE, Spring, OSGi,Angular)
• Experience with REST APIs and message-based systems (e.g. XML, JSON)
• Highly motivated, collaborative team player who likes to analyze and solve complex challenges
• Comfortable with communicating with stakeholders and collaborating with other teams
• Strong written and spoken English language skills

You will get extra points for the following:

• Experience with Avaloq Banking System isa BIG plus
• Experience in automation tools like Cypress, Selenium, Appium, Jest
• Experience with Performance testing tools (Gatlin, LoadRunner, JMeter)
• Knowledge in Oracle database architecture
• Experience in integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with cloud architecture concepts (e.g. Operators, Microservices, Containers)
• Experience with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure
• Knowledge and practical experience in using open-source libraries and tools within development projects
