Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in marine painting or related maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; coatings training preferred.
• Ability to obtain facility credentials and read technical instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform preservation, chipping, scraping, sanding, and coating work aboard MSC vessels.
• Prepare surfaces by removing rust and old coatings with hand and pneumatic tools.
• Assist with coating application, touch-ups, and preservation tasks.
• Support corrosion-control activities, including priming and painting ship structures.
• Maintain proper use of paints, PPE, and cleanliness of gear.
• Follow supervisor instructions to complete tasks safely and to quality standards.
• Maintain logs and material usage notes related to paint activities.
• Assist with setup, staging, containment, and cleanup of work areas.
