Job summary

Columbia Shipmanagement Ltd. seeks a Service Engineer with hands-on experience in marine diesel engines to join our maintenance team.

You will lead a small crew and ensure safe work practices while performing overhauls and diagnostics on auxiliary and main engines in vessel or yard settings. The role requires reading and applying technical manuals, coordinating with the superintendent and vessel crew, and delivering practical fault-finding and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience with marine diesel engines.
• Experience in full engine overhauls (cylinder head, piston, liner work, fuel system, turbochargers).
• Ability to read technical manuals and follow overhaul procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
• Capable of leading a small team and ensuring safe work practices.
• English proficiency adequate to coordinate with superintendent and vessel crew.

The SERVICE ENGINEER Shall Have The Following Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience
• with marine diesel engines (Auxiliary Engines Wartsila / MAN / Yanmar or similar).

Proven Background In Full Engine Overhauls , Including

• Cylinder head, piston, liner work
• Fuel injection system
• Turbocharger handling
• Bearing and crankshaft measurements
• Ability to read technical manuals and follow overhaul procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
• Must be capable of leading a small team and ensuring safe work practices.
• Technical education in mechanical/marine engineering (degree or technical college).
• English communication at a level adequate to coordinate with superintendent and vessel crew.
