Job summary

Evans & Chambers seeks a Tier 3 Threat Hunter/Detection Engineer to perform proactive threat hunts against current adversary TTPs, develop and tune detection content, and provide senior technical leadership for advanced investigations in the National Capital Region (on site).

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; 5–8+ years in cybersecurity, threat hunting, detection engineering or advanced incident response.
DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III required, plus at least one advanced certification (GCTI, GCFA, OSCP, or CISSP).
Strong experience developing and tuning SIEM/SOAR content and automation.

Responsibilities

Conduct proactive, hypothesis-driven threat hunts informed by threat intelligence.
Develop, tune, and maintain SIEM/SOAR detection content and automated response playbooks.
Lead technical investigations of advanced or persistent threats beyond Tier 2 scope.
Provide SOC-informed input to architecture and platform engineering decisions.
