JOBS360 is seeking an experienced accountant to prepare financial statements and tax returns for entities ranging up to 20 entities with Australian tax exposure. You will mentor junior staff, liaise directly with clients, and support complex reporting including cash flow and management reports.
The role emphasizes five years of Australian tax experience, familiarity with ATO interactions, and strong Excel and accounting software skills in a dynamic firm.
Preparation of Financial Statements and tax returns for small to large groups, including:
Individuals, Partnerships, Trusts, Companies
Business Activity Statements
Fringe Benefits Tax
Division 7A Loans
Capital Gains Tax
Other ad hoc financial reporting including cash flow and management reporting as required
Reviewing, mentoring and training junior and intermediate accounting staff
Assisting with preparation of complex financial statements and tax returns for large groups with up to 20 entities and $200m AUD annual turnover
Degree in Accounting
CPA preferred (not essential)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Able to work without supervision
Strong problem-solving skills
Good communication skills
Able to work directly with clients
Ability to mentor and review junior accountants’ work
Highly competent with 5 years' experience working in Australian income tax
Strong work ethic
5 years' experience working in Australian income tax
Experience dealing directly with the Australian Taxation Office
Experience with a sound understanding of the following
Income Tax Assessment Act
GST
PAYG Income Tax System
PAYG Withholding and Single Touch Payroll
Division 7A
Capital Gains Tax
Superannuation Guarantee and Contributions
Fringe Benefits Tax
Experience with Payroll Tax (not essential)
Trust Distributions Xero Practice Manager, Xero Tax and Xero Ledger
MYOB
Acumatica (not essential)
Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, etc.
