Job summary

Sptix is seeking a Control and Protection Engineer with extensive experience in substation protection relay systems. The role entails designing and preparing engineering drawings for high voltage substations and reviewing automation systems based on IEC61850.

The candidate will work within EPC environments with multidisciplinary teams. Key responsibilities include relay testing, SAS commissioning, CT/VT sizing, and coordinating protection schemes to ensure robust substation protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in substation protection relay systems within EHV substations.
• Experience in EPC environments with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of secondary engineering for substations up to 765kV/400kV/220kV and HVDC.
• Experience in relay testing and SAS commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare engineering drawings (SLD/KLD/PSLD/CRP) for substations using E-CAD tools.
• Design and review substation automation systems based on IEC61850.
• Review BOQ and network drawings for PLCC/FOTE engineering and interface with telecom equipment.
• Perform CT and VT sizing calculations and design control/power cable engineering in substations.
• Design LV/LT auxiliary systems for electrical substations and interface with SAS/SCADA.
• Perform and review protection relay application, setting calculations, and coordination including tripping analysis.
